To start the Toro ProLine 156 30156 Mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the throttle is set to 'choke' if the engine is cold, and the blade control is disengaged. Pull the starter handle briskly to start the engine.
Check the fuel level and ensure the fuel valve is open. Verify that the spark plug is functioning and clean. Also, ensure the air filter is clean and the fuel is fresh.
To adjust the cutting height, use the height adjustment levers located on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position to raise or lower the cutting height.
It's recommended to check the oil level before each use, clean the air filter every 25 hours of operation, and replace the spark plug annually. Regularly inspect and clean the mower deck.
Ensure that the tires are properly inflated and the cutting height is appropriately set for the terrain. For very uneven areas, consider adjusting the speed to maintain control.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C). Ensure that the oil meets API service classification SF, SG, SH, SJ, or higher.
Remove the blade by securing it with a block of wood and loosening the bolt with a wrench. Sharpen the blade with a file or a grinder, ensuring to maintain the original angle. Balance the blade before reinstalling.
Excessive vibration may be caused by a damaged blade or loose parts. Inspect the blade for damage and check all bolts and fasteners for tightness. Balance the blade if necessary.
Clean the mower thoroughly, drain the fuel, and perform an oil change. Remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the mower and store it in a dry location.
Ensure the mower deck is level and the blade is sharp and properly balanced. Check the tire pressure and adjust the cutting height as needed.
