To start the Toro Power Shift 924, first ensure that the fuel valve is open. Set the choke to full, and throttle to the fast position. Pull the starter handle or press the electric start button if equipped. Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke to the off position.
Check the traction drive cable for proper tension. If it's loose, adjust it according to the manual instructions. Also, inspect the drive belt for wear or damage and replace it if necessary.
Regularly check the auger for obstructions and clear any debris. Ensure that the shear pins are intact and replace them if broken. Lubricate moving parts as recommended in the maintenance schedule.
Change the engine oil after the first five hours of use and then after every 25 hours of operation or annually. Check the spark plug condition and gap, and replace it if necessary. Ensure that the fuel system is clean and free from stale fuel.
To store the snow thrower, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops to ensure the carburetor is empty. Clean the machine thoroughly to remove any dirt or debris, and apply a thin layer of oil to prevent rust. Store in a dry, covered location.
Excessive vibration can be caused by damaged or unbalanced augers, impellers, or pulleys. Inspect these components for damage or imbalance, and repair or replace as necessary.
To adjust the skid shoes, place the snow thrower on a flat surface. Loosen the skid shoe bolts and set them to the desired height, ensuring they are even on both sides. Retighten the bolts securely.
Inspect the chute control cables for proper tension and adjust if necessary. Check for any obstructions in the chute rotation mechanism and lubricate the moving parts as needed.
Inspect and tighten all fasteners before each use to ensure safety and optimal performance. Pay particular attention to the auger and impeller housing bolts.
The recommended tire pressure is usually around 20 psi. Refer to the user manual for the exact specification and check the tire pressure regularly to ensure optimal traction.
