To start the Toro Power Shift 624, ensure the fuel shut-off valve is open, set the choke to 'Full', move the throttle to 'Fast', and pull the starter handle or use the electric start button if equipped.
Check the drive belt for wear or damage and ensure it is properly tensioned. Also, inspect the traction drive cable for proper adjustment and connection.
Change the oil after the first 2 hours of use, and then after every 25 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first.
The recommended tire pressure for the Toro Power Shift 624 is 15 psi (103 kPa). Ensure both tires are equally inflated.
To adjust the skid shoes, loosen the mounting nuts, move the shoes to the desired height, and then tighten the nuts securely. Ensure both sides are adjusted equally.
Inspect for any damaged or unbalanced components, such as the impeller or auger. Tighten any loose hardware and ensure the impeller and auger are not obstructed.
To replace the scraper blade, remove the bolts securing the old blade, position the new blade, and secure it with the bolts. Ensure it is evenly aligned with the auger housing.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, lubricate moving parts, and clean the snow thrower. Store in a dry, covered area to protect it from the elements.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, inspect the fuel line for blockages, and verify that the choke is in the correct position.
