To start your Toro Power Max 928OAE 38840, ensure that the fuel shutoff valve is open, the choke is set to full, and the throttle is at the 'Fast' position. Then, pull the recoil starter or press the electric start button if equipped.
Regularly inspect the auger and impeller for damage or wear. Lubricate the auger shaft and ensure shear pins are intact. Replace any worn or damaged parts as necessary.
Check for clogs in the chute and ensure the auger is not damaged. Verify that the throttle is in the 'Fast' position and that the drive belt is not worn or damaged.
Change the oil after the first 2 hours of use, then annually or every 25 hours of operation, whichever comes first. Use a high-quality 5W-30 oil for best performance.
To prevent clogging, operate at full throttle and avoid throwing heavy, wet snow. You can also apply a non-stick spray to the chute and auger to reduce buildup.
Cold weather can thicken the oil and fuel. Use fresh fuel and consider using a fuel stabilizer. Ensure the choke is fully engaged during cold starts and consider using an engine block heater if available.
Clean the machine thoroughly, drain the fuel, or add a stabilizer, and change the oil. Store in a dry area and cover to protect from dust and moisture. Remove the spark plug and add a few drops of oil into the cylinder to prevent rust.
To adjust the skid shoes, loosen the mounting nuts, set the height positioning the scraper bar according to your surface type (higher for gravel, lower for paved), and retighten the nuts.
Check the drive belt for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Ensure the traction control cable is correctly adjusted. Consult the manual for specific instructions on cable adjustment.
First, disconnect the spark plug wire. Use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug. Check the gap on the new spark plug, and install it by hand to avoid cross-threading, then tighten with the wrench. Reconnect the spark plug wire.
