To start the snow thrower, ensure that it is on a flat surface. Turn the fuel valve to the "ON" position, insert the ignition key, set the choke to "FULL", and pull the starter handle or use the electric start button. Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke to the "RUN" position.
Check if there is enough fuel and oil in the engine. Ensure the ignition key is inserted properly and the choke is set correctly. If the problem persists, inspect the spark plug for any wear or damage and replace if necessary.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of operation and then once every 50 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first.
Use clean, fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
Drain the fuel tank, run the engine until it stops, and change the oil. Clean the exterior and apply a rust preventative to the metal parts. Store the snow thrower in a dry, covered area.
To prevent clogging, avoid overloading the snow thrower by taking smaller passes in heavy snow. Use a non-stick spray on the chute and auger to help reduce buildup.
Before each season, inspect the spark plug, belts, and cables for wear. Check that all nuts and bolts are tight, and ensure the auger and impeller are free of debris.
Loosen the nuts securing the skid shoes and adjust them so that the scraper bar is 1/8 to 1/4 inch above the ground. Retighten the nuts securely.
Stop the engine immediately and inspect for any damaged or loose parts, especially the impeller and auger. Tighten any loose components and replace any damaged parts.
Disconnect the spark plug wire and remove the belt cover. Relieve tension on the belt and remove it from the pulleys. Install the new belt and reassemble the belt cover. Ensure the belt is properly seated before reconnecting the spark plug wire.
