To start the Toro Power Max 826OE 38629C Snow Thrower, ensure it is on a flat surface. Turn the fuel valve to the 'On' position, set the choke to 'Full', and press the primer bulb two to three times. Pull the starter cord or use the electric start button if equipped. Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke to the 'Run' position.
Check for clogs in the chute and auger. Ensure the auger and impeller are clear of any blockages. Additionally, inspect the auger drive belt for wear and adjust or replace if necessary. Make sure the engine is running at full throttle for optimal performance.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then after every 25 hours of operation or at the beginning of each snow season. Use the recommended oil type as specified in the user manual.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content to prevent engine damage.
To adjust the skid shoes, loosen the mounting bolts and slide the skid shoes up or down to the desired height. Tighten the bolts securely. Ensure both skid shoes are adjusted evenly to maintain level operation.
Drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel system issues. Clean the snow thrower thoroughly and inspect for any damage. Lubricate all moving parts as recommended in the manual. Store in a dry, sheltered area away from direct sunlight.
First, disconnect the spark plug wire for safety. Remove the belt cover and the old belt. Install the new belt by following the diagram in the manual, ensuring it is properly seated on the pulleys. Replace the belt cover and reconnect the spark plug wire.
Ensure that the fuel is fresh and the correct type. Check the spark plug for wear or fouling and replace if necessary. Inspect the air filter and clean or replace it if it is dirty. Adjust the carburetor settings if needed.
Ensure the chute and auger are clear of obstructions. Operate the snow thrower at a slower pace to allow the machine to handle the heavy load. Consider using a non-stick spray on the auger and chute to reduce clogging.
Inspect and tighten all fasteners. Check the condition of the belts and replace if worn. Make sure the skid shoes and scraper bar are properly adjusted. Change the oil and inspect the spark plug. Ensure all controls operate smoothly and the tires are properly inflated.
