To start the Toro Power Max 824 OE 37793 Snow Thrower, ensure the fuel shut-off valve is open, the ignition key is inserted, and the choke is in the full position. Then, pull the starter handle or press the electric start button until the engine starts.
Use clean, fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol.
Change the oil after the first 2 hours of operation and then annually or every 25 hours of operation, whichever comes first.
Check if the auger or impeller is clogged with snow and clear any obstructions. Ensure the auger drive belt is intact and properly tensioned.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, lubricate moving parts, and store the snow thrower in a dry place.
To adjust the skid shoes, loosen the bolts, adjust the skid shoes to the desired height, and then retighten the bolts. This helps in setting the correct auger housing clearance.
The engine may run rough or stall due to old fuel, clogged fuel lines, or a dirty spark plug. Check these components and clean or replace as necessary.
To improve traction, consider using tire chains or adding additional weight to the snow thrower. Ensure the tires are properly inflated.
Check and change the oil if necessary, inspect the spark plug, examine belts for wear, lubricate all moving parts, and ensure the auger and impeller are free of damage.
To replace shear pins, stop the engine and remove the ignition key. Align the holes in the auger shaft and the auger, insert the new shear pin, and secure it with a cotter pin.
