To start the Toro Power Max 724OE, ensure the fuel shut-off valve is open, the choke is set to 'Full', and the throttle is in the 'Fast' position. Pull the recoil starter or use the electric start if available.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than E10.
Check the fuel level and ensure the fuel is fresh. Verify that the spark plug is in good condition and the ignition switch is on. Ensure the choke and throttle controls are correctly set.
Change the oil after the first 2 hours of operation and then once per season or every 25 hours of use, whichever comes first.
Drain the fuel, change the oil, lubricate all moving parts, and check for any worn parts that need replacement. Store the machine in a dry, clean place.
Adjust the skid shoes to raise the auger housing height, and use a slower ground speed to allow the machine to process the snow more efficiently.
Check if the auger and impeller are clear of obstructions. Ensure the auger drive belt is not worn or broken. Adjust or replace the belt if necessary.
Stop the engine and remove the ignition key. Align the holes in the auger and the shaft, then insert a new shear pin and secure it with a cotter pin.
Turn off the engine and use a clean-out tool to clear the chute. Never use your hands to clear a clogged chute.
Read the operator's manual thoroughly, wear appropriate clothing and safety equipment, and be aware of your surroundings while operating the machine.
