To start the Toro Power Max 724 OE, ensure that it is on a flat surface. Insert the key into the ignition, set the choke to the 'full' position, and push the primer bulb three times. Then, pull the recoil starter handle or use the electric start button if equipped.
Check if the auger is clear of any debris and ensure that the chute is not clogged. Also, verify that the shear pins are intact and not broken, and the drive belt is properly tensioned. Adjust the skid shoes and scraper bar if needed.
It is recommended to change the oil after the first 2 hours of operation, and then once every 25 hours of use or at the beginning of each season, whichever comes first.
Use clean, fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87. Avoid using ethanol blends greater than 10% as they may cause engine damage.
Drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Clean the machine thoroughly, inspect for any damaged parts, and store it in a dry, cool place. Consider using a protective cover to prevent dust accumulation.
Inspect the drive cable for proper tension and adjust if necessary. Check if the drive belt is worn or broken and replace it if needed. Ensure that the wheels are not obstructed and are engaging properly.
To adjust the skid shoes, loosen the nuts securing them and slide the shoes to the desired height. For paved surfaces, set them close to the ground, and for gravel, raise them to prevent picking up stones. Tighten the nuts securely.
Conduct a thorough inspection, checking all nuts and bolts for tightness. Lubricate moving parts, change the oil, check the spark plug condition, and ensure that the tires are properly inflated. Also, test the operation of the auger, chute, and drive system.
Apply a non-stick snow thrower spray on the chute and auger components to reduce snow buildup. Operate the machine at a consistent pace and avoid overloading it with too much snow at once.
Ensure that the fuel is fresh and the correct type for cold weather. Use the choke as needed and consider using a fuel stabilizer. If persistent, check the spark plug and clean or replace it if necessary.
