Use clean, fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of operation, then annually or after every 50 hours of use, whichever comes first.
Check the fuel level, ensure the ignition switch is on, inspect the spark plug for damage, and verify that the fuel is fresh.
Adjust the chute deflector to a higher angle and ensure the auger and impeller are clean and free of debris.
Drain the fuel system, change the oil, clean the exterior, and store in a dry, covered location to prevent rust.
Inspect the auger and impeller for obstructions or damage and ensure all nuts and bolts are tight.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, remove the old spark plug with a socket wrench, and install a new, properly gapped spark plug.
Check if the auger and scraper blade are worn and need replacement, or if the drive belt is slipping.
Loosen the skid shoe bolts, adjust them to the desired height for the surface you're clearing, and retighten the bolts securely.
