To start the Toro Power Max 1128OXE 38828, ensure the fuel valve is open, engage the choke, and pull the starter handle firmly. For electric start models, plug in the power cord and press the start button.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than E10.
Check the fuel level, ensure the choke is engaged, confirm the ignition switch is set to 'ON', and inspect the spark plug for wear or damage.
It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 50 hours of operation or once per season.
Regularly inspect the auger and shear pins for damage. Lubricate the auger shaft annually and replace any worn or damaged components.
To adjust the skid shoes, loosen the mounting nuts, raise or lower the shoes to the desired height, then retighten the nuts. Ensure both sides are evenly adjusted.
Turn off the engine and wait for all moving parts to stop. Use a clean-out tool or a stick to clear the clog, never your hands.
Disconnect the spark plug, remove the belt cover, release the belt tension, and remove the old belt. Install the new belt, ensure proper tension, and reattach the cover.
Drain the fuel, change the oil, inspect and clean the machine, and store it in a dry place. Consider using a fuel stabilizer for any remaining fuel.
Adjust the skid shoes to an appropriate height to accommodate the terrain, ensuring the scraper blade is slightly above ground level to avoid scraping.
