To start the Toro Power Max 1128OXE, ensure that the fuel shut-off valve is open and the throttle is set to the 'Fast' position. Prime the engine with the primer bulb three times, set the choke to 'Full', and pull the starter cord firmly until the engine starts. Once started, gradually move the choke to the 'Run' position.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. It is recommended to use fresh fuel, and if the snow thrower is stored for more than 30 days, add a fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel degradation.
Change the oil after the first two hours of operation, and then annually or every 25 operating hours, whichever comes first. Use SAE 5W-30 or SAE 10W-30 oil for best performance in cold weather conditions.
Check if the fuel tank is filled with fresh gasoline and the engine switch is turned on. Ensure the choke is set correctly for starting. Inspect the spark plug for damage and clean or replace it if necessary. If the problem persists, consult the user manual for further troubleshooting steps.
Raising or lowering the skid shoes adjusts the height of the auger housing. To do this, loosen the skid shoe mounting nuts, adjust the skid shoes to the desired height, and then retighten the nuts. This adjustment helps prevent damage to the auger and scraper blade on uneven surfaces.
Perform the following maintenance: check and change the oil as needed, inspect the spark plug annually, check the fuel system and add stabilizer if necessary, and inspect belts for wear. Additionally, clean the machine after each use to prevent snow and ice buildup.
First, turn off the engine and wait for all moving parts to stop. Use a clean-out tool or stick to remove the snow and debris from the chute. Never use your hands to clear a clog. Always restart the machine from a safe position.
Drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer to prevent degradation. Change the oil and clean the machine thoroughly. Store it in a dry, sheltered location. Cover the machine to protect it from dust and dirt. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.
Check the auger drive belt for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Ensure the auger control cable is properly adjusted and connected. If the problem persists, consult the user manual or a professional technician for further troubleshooting.
To improve traction, consider installing tire chains or using weights on the rear of the snow thrower. Additionally, ensure that the tires are inflated to the recommended pressure as indicated in the user manual.
