Toro Power Max 1028LE 38642 Operator's Manual

To start the Toro Power Max 1028LE, ensure the fuel shut-off valve is open, set the choke to the 'full' position, push the primer bulb twice, and pull the recoil starter handle. Alternatively, connect the electric starter cord and press the start button.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87 and a maximum of 10% ethanol. Avoid using gasoline with methanol.
Check for obstructions in the discharge chute or auger. Ensure the auger and impeller are not worn or damaged. Adjust the skid shoes and scraper bar to the proper height.
Warm up the engine, then turn it off. Remove the oil drain plug and let the oil drain completely. Replace the drain plug and fill the engine with the recommended oil type and amount.
Check the drive cable for proper tension and adjust if necessary. Inspect the drive belt for wear or damage and replace if needed. Ensure the traction control lever is functioning correctly.
Drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer to the tank. Change the oil and clean the unit thoroughly. Store in a dry, protected area to avoid rust and corrosion.
Regularly check and tighten all fasteners, inspect the belts and replace if worn, lubricate all moving parts, and check the tire pressure. Review the operator's manual for a complete maintenance schedule.
Loosen the skid shoe bolts, adjust the skid shoes to the desired height, and retighten the bolts. Ensure both skid shoes are adjusted to the same height for even clearing.
Check the air filter for dirt and clean or replace it if necessary. Inspect the spark plug for fouling and replace it if needed. Ensure the fuel is fresh and the fuel system is clean.
Turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire. Align the holes in the auger and the shaft, then insert a new shear pin and secure it with a cotter pin. Repeat for each shear pin.
