To start the Toro Power Clear 928OHXE 38801, ensure the fuel shut-off valve is open and the choke is in the correct position. Pull the recoil starter or use the electric start feature if available.
Before storing your snow thrower, drain the fuel tank, change the engine oil, and clean the machine thoroughly. Lubricate moving parts and store it in a dry place.
Check for a clogged discharge chute or auger. Ensure the skid shoes and scraper are properly adjusted. Inspect the auger and impeller for wear or damage.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is in good condition, and verify the choke and throttle positions. Also, inspect the fuel line for blockages.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 25 hours or once per season. Use the recommended oil type and check the level regularly.
To adjust the skid shoes, loosen the mounting nuts and slide the shoes to the desired height. Ensure both sides are even and retighten the nuts securely.
To clean the carburetor, remove it from the engine, disassemble it carefully, and clean each component with carburetor cleaner. Reassemble and reinstall it, ensuring all parts are secure.
An engine running rough could be due to stale fuel, a dirty air filter, or a fouled spark plug. Check these components and replace or clean them as needed.
Wear appropriate clothing, including safety glasses and hearing protection. Keep hands and feet away from moving parts and operate the machine only in well-lit conditions.
To replace the spark plug, disconnect the spark plug wire, remove the old plug using a spark plug wrench, and install the new plug by hand before tightening with the wrench. Reconnect the spark plug wire.
