Ensure the fuel valve is open, the choke is engaged, and the throttle is set to fast. Pull the starter handle or use the electric start if available.
Use fresh, clean, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than E10.
Change the oil after the first 2 hours of operation, then annually or after every 25 hours of use, whichever comes first.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected and not fouled, and verify choke and throttle settings. Also, check for any blockages in the fuel line.
Inspect the auger regularly for wear and tear, and tighten any loose fasteners. Replace worn or damaged parts to ensure optimal performance.
Check for any obstructions in the chute or auger, and ensure the throttle is set to fast. Consider adjusting the chute deflector to change the throwing distance.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean the unit thoroughly, and store it in a dry place. Disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starting.
Ensure the tires are inflated to 17 psi (117 kPa) for optimal performance. Check tire pressure regularly, especially before use.
Clear snow frequently to avoid overloading the machine. Avoid wet or slushy snow conditions, and use a non-stick spray on the chute and auger to reduce clogs.
Inspect the auger and impeller for damage or imbalance, and ensure all fasteners are tight. Replace any damaged parts if necessary.
