Ensure the fuel tank is filled, the key is inserted, and the choke is set to the "Full" position. Pull the starter handle briskly, or use the electric start if available.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using fuel with more than 10% ethanol.
Check the fuel level and quality, ensure the spark plug is connected and clean, and verify the choke and throttle settings. If issues persist, consult the user manual or a professional technician.
Perform an oil change after the first 2 hours of use, then annually or every 25 hours. Inspect and clean the spark plug, and check the auger and impeller for wear or damage regularly.
Loosen the skid bolts and adjust the skids to the desired height. Tighten the bolts securely, and ensure the scraper is level for optimal performance.
Check for loose parts, worn auger paddles, or debris lodged in the auger or impeller. Tighten any loose parts and clear any obstructions.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, and clean the exterior. Store in a dry, sheltered location. Disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starts.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, remove the old spark plug using a spark plug wrench, and install a new plug, ensuring it is properly gapped. Reconnect the wire securely.
Check for clogged discharge chute or worn paddles. Clear any blockages and replace worn paddles to improve snow throwing distance.
Turn off the engine and allow it to cool. Remove the carburetor cover and use a carburetor cleaner spray to clean the jets and surfaces. Reassemble and test the snow thrower.
