Toro Power Clear 1028OHXE 38806 Operator's Manual

To start the Toro Power Clear 1028OHXE 38806 Snow Thrower, ensure the fuel shutoff valve is open, the throttle is set to 'Fast', and the choke is set to 'Full'. Pull the recoil starter or use the electric start if equipped. Gradually move the choke to 'Run' as the engine warms up.
To store the snow thrower, clean it thoroughly and drain the fuel tank. Run the engine until it stops to clear any remaining fuel from the system. Store the unit in a dry, sheltered location and cover it to protect it from dust and debris.
If the snow thrower is not throwing snow effectively, check for clogged discharge chute or auger. Ensure the auger drive belt is not worn or broken. Adjust the skid shoes and scraper blade if needed. Regularly inspect and replace any damaged parts.
Before each use, check the engine oil level and add oil if necessary. Inspect the fuel level and top off if needed. Examine the auger, scraper blade, and skid shoes for wear or damage. Make sure all controls work smoothly.
To adjust the skid shoes, loosen the mounting nuts and slide the skid shoes to the desired position. Ensure both skid shoes are set at equal heights to prevent uneven wear. Tighten the nuts securely once adjusted.
If the engine fails to start, check the fuel level and quality, ensuring it is fresh. Verify the spark plug condition and replace if necessary. Make sure all safety switches are engaged and the choke is set correctly.
The oil should be changed after the first 2 hours of operation for a new snow thrower, and then after every 25 hours of use or at the end of each season, whichever comes first.
The recommended fuel type is unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87. Avoid using gasoline containing more than 10% ethanol.
To replace the spark plug, disconnect the spark plug wire and remove the old spark plug using a spark plug wrench. Install the new spark plug and tighten it securely, then reconnect the spark plug wire.
When operating on gravel surfaces, set the skid shoes to a higher position to prevent the auger from picking up stones. Always operate at a slower speed and be cautious to avoid throwing gravel.
