To start the Toro Mulcher 21-inch 18015 mower, ensure the fuel tank is filled, the spark plug is connected, and the oil level is adequate. Then, squeeze the safety bar to the handle, and pull the starter rope briskly.
It is recommended to change the oil every 25 hours of use or at least once per mowing season to ensure optimal performance and longevity of the engine.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C). If operating in temperatures below 32°F (0°C), use SAE 5W-30 oil.
After each mowing session, safely tip the mower on its side with the air filter and carburetor facing up. Use a hose to rinse grass clippings and debris from the underside of the mowing deck.
Check the fuel level and quality, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, ensure the air filter is clean, and verify that the safety bar is engaged properly.
First, disconnect the spark plug wire for safety. Remove the blade and use a file or a sharpening tool to hone the blade edge. Reinstall the blade securely before reconnecting the spark plug wire.
It is not recommended to use the mower on wet grass as it can lead to uneven cuts, clogging, and potential damage to the mower. Wait until the grass is dry for best results.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position, ensuring all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
At the end of the season, perform an oil change, clean the mower thoroughly, inspect and clean the spark plug, and store the mower in a dry place. Add fuel stabilizer to the fuel tank to prevent engine issues.
Ensure all wheels are set to the same height and check that the blade is sharp and properly balanced. Also, verify the deck is clean and free from debris build-up.
