To start the mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, engage the choke, and pull the starter grip gently until you feel resistance, then pull briskly. Once the engine starts, gradually push the choke back in.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil before each use, cleaning the air filter every 25 hours, sharpening the blades every 20-25 hours, and changing the oil every 50 hours.
If the mower does not start, check for fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, inspect the air filter for clogs, and check the battery charge if applicable.
Blades should be sharpened every 20-25 hours of use. Replace blades if they are bent, cracked, or excessively worn.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades, loose hardware, or debris stuck under the deck. Check and tighten all bolts, clean the deck, and inspect the blades.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position to raise or lower the deck evenly.
Clean the mower thoroughly, drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, and store it in a dry, sheltered area. Disconnect the battery if applicable.
Ensure the blades are sharp and raise the cutting height to prevent the mower from bogging down. Mow at a slower pace and consider mowing more frequently.
If the engine overheats, stop the mower and allow it to cool. Check the oil level and airflow around the engine, clean any debris from the cooling fins, and ensure the air filter is clean.
To change the oil, run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up, then turn it off. Remove the oil drain plug and let the oil drain completely. Replace the drain plug, add new oil, and check the oil level with the dipstick.
