Toro LX468 13AP61RH848 Operator's Manual

The Toro LX468 should undergo regular maintenance every 25 operating hours, including checking the oil level, inspecting the air filter, and checking tire pressure. Annually, perform a comprehensive check including changing the oil, replacing the fuel filter, and sharpening the blades.
If the tractor won't start, first check the battery connections and ensure the battery is charged. Verify that the fuel tank is not empty and the fuel filter is not clogged. Also, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage and replace it if necessary.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the cutting height adjustment lever on the tractor. Move the lever to the desired cutting height position, which ranges from 1.5 to 4 inches. Ensure the deck is level for an even cut.
For off-season storage, clean the tractor thoroughly, remove any grass clippings, and lubricate all moving parts. Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer. Disconnect the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
To replace the blades, first disconnect the spark plug wire for safety. Lift the tractor securely and use a wrench to remove the blade bolt. Replace the old blade with a new one, ensuring the sharp edge is facing the correct direction, and tighten the bolt securely.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades or debris stuck in the mower deck. Check the blades for damage or imbalance and replace if necessary. Clean the deck thoroughly to remove any debris. Tighten all loose parts and check the engine mounting bolts.
To change the oil, run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up, then turn it off. Remove the oil drain plug and let the oil drain into a container. Replace the drain plug and fill the engine with new oil, checking the level with the dipstick.
Toro recommends using unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content to prevent damage to the engine components.
To improve traction on slopes, reduce the tire pressure slightly to increase the contact area. Consider adding wheel weights or a rear-mounted ballast to improve stability. Always mow up and down slopes, not across, to reduce the risk of tipping.
If the engine overheats, stop the tractor and allow it to cool. Check for obstructions in the cooling fins and clean if necessary. Ensure the oil level is adequate and the air filter is clean. Avoid operating the tractor at high speeds for extended periods in hot weather.
