To change the oil, first ensure the engine is off and cool. Locate the oil drain plug under the engine, place a pan beneath it, and remove the plug to drain the oil. Replace the drain plug and refill the engine with new oil through the oil fill cap. Check the oil level with the dipstick.
Check the battery for charge and connections. Ensure the fuel tank has clean, fresh gasoline. Check the spark plug for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Inspect the air filter for clogs and clean or replace it.
Ensure the tire pressures are even and at the recommended PSI. Check if the mower deck is level. Inspect the blades for damage or dullness and sharpen or replace as needed. Remove any debris or buildup under the deck.
Perform an oil change and replace the oil filter every 50 hours of use or annually. Clean the air filter every 25 hours and replace it as needed. Check and maintain tire pressure regularly. Sharpen or replace blades as required.
Locate the cutting height adjustment lever on the side of the tractor. Move the lever to the desired cutting height setting, which ranges from 1 to 4 inches. Ensure the deck is level from side to side after adjustment.
Check for debris blocking the air intake or cooling fins. Ensure the engine has the correct oil level. Inspect the cooling system for leaks or damage. Clean any dirt or debris from around the engine's exterior.
Check the transmission fluid level and top it off if needed. Inspect the drive belt for wear or damage and replace it if necessary. Ensure that the transmission is correctly adjusted according to the manual.
Park the tractor on a flat surface and remove the ignition key. Use a block to prevent blade movement, then use a wrench to remove the blade bolts. Replace with new blades, ensuring they are correctly aligned, and tighten the bolts securely.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than 10%, as they can damage the engine components. Store fuel in a clean, approved container.
Clean the tractor thoroughly and apply a protective wax. Add a fuel stabilizer to the gas tank and run the engine for a few minutes. Change the oil and filter, and remove the battery to store in a cool, dry place. Cover the tractor to protect it from dust and moisture.
