To start the Toro HoverPro 500 02604 mower, ensure that the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Check that the spark plug is connected. Press the primer bulb a few times if the engine is cold. Hold the safety lever against the handle and pull the starter rope firmly.
Toro recommends using unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends with more than 10% ethanol, as they can damage the engine.
To adjust the cutting height, use the height adjustment lever located near the wheels. Move the lever to the desired position to raise or lower the cutting height. Ensure the mower is off and the blade has stopped before making adjustments.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, inspecting the spark plug, and sharpening the blade. Also, keep the deck clean and check for loose bolts or parts.
If the mower doesn't start, check the fuel level and ensure fresh fuel is used. Verify that the spark plug is clean and properly connected. Inspect the air filter for clogs and ensure the safety lever is engaged. If issues persist, seek professional servicing.
Before storing the mower, clean the deck and blade thoroughly. Drain the fuel tank or use a fuel stabilizer. Disconnect the spark plug. Store the mower in a dry, sheltered area with a cover to protect it from dust and moisture.
Always wear appropriate footwear and safety glasses. Do not operate the mower on steep slopes. Clear the lawn of debris before mowing. Keep hands and feet away from the cutting area. Ensure bystanders are at a safe distance.
To change the oil, run the mower for a few minutes to warm the engine. Turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug. Tilt the mower to drain the old oil into a suitable container. Refill with the recommended oil type and amount. Reconnect the spark plug.
Excessive vibration may indicate a damaged blade or loose parts. Inspect the blade for damage and ensure it is properly balanced and secured. Check for any loose bolts or components. If the issue continues, consult a professional technician.
To replace the air filter, locate the air filter cover on the side of the engine. Remove the cover and take out the old filter. Install the new filter and secure the cover back in place. Ensure the filter is installed correctly to prevent engine damage.
