Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends greater than E10 to prevent engine damage.
Ensure the fuel valve is open, the throttle is set to 'fast', and the safety handle is engaged. Pull the starter cord briskly to start the engine.
Check the fuel level and quality, ensure the spark plug is functioning, and verify that the air filter is clean. Replace components if necessary.
Sharpen the mower blades every 20-25 hours of use or when you notice uneven cuts in the grass.
Use SAE 30 or 10W-30 motor oil for optimal performance. Check the oil level regularly and change it after the first 5 hours of use and then every 50 hours.
Check the air filter every 25 hours of use. Clean it by tapping it gently to remove dirt or replace it if it’s heavily soiled or damaged.
Drain the fuel tank, change the oil, clean the mower thoroughly, and store it in a dry place. Consider removing the spark plug for added safety.
Use the height adjustment levers located on each wheel to set the desired cutting height. Make sure all wheels are set to the same level for an even cut.
Ensure the blades are sharp and installed correctly. Check the deck for obstructions and ensure the engine is running at full speed.
Turn off the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire. Use a hose to wash away grass clippings and debris. Dry the deck thoroughly to prevent rust.
