To start the Toro HoverPro 450, first ensure the fuel tank is filled and the oil level is adequate. Prime the engine by pressing the primer bulb a few times. Then, pull the starter cord briskly to start the engine.
Regular maintenance includes checking the oil level before each use, cleaning the air filter monthly, inspecting the spark plug annually, and sharpening or replacing the blade as needed.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers near the wheels. Move the levers to the desired height setting for your grass condition.
If the mower does not start, check the fuel level and ensure fresh fuel is used. Verify the spark plug is clean and connected properly, and check the air filter for obstructions.
To clean the underside of the mower deck, safely tip the mower to access the deck. Use a brush or hose to remove grass clippings and debris. Ensure the mower is off and the spark plug is disconnected before cleaning.
Use clean, fresh, unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol to prevent engine damage.
Ensure the cutting blade is sharp and in good condition. Adjust the cutting height to a higher setting for uneven areas, and mow slowly to maintain control and efficiency.
Excessive vibration could be due to a damaged or unbalanced blade. Inspect the blade for damage and replace it if necessary. Tighten any loose bolts or screws on the mower.
It is recommended to inspect and clean the spark plug every season and replace it annually or after 100 hours of use, whichever comes first.
Use SAE 30 or 10W-30 motor oil for optimal performance. Check the oil level before each use and change the oil after the first 5 hours of operation, then after every 25 operating hours.
