To start the Toro HoverPro 400, ensure that the fuel tank is filled, the spark plug is connected, and the throttle is set to the 'Start' position. Then, pull the starter rope firmly until the engine runs.
Check if the impeller is clean and free of debris. Ensure that the ground is even and the grass is not too tall or wet. Adjust the cutting height if necessary.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 25 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season, whichever comes first.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
Remove the blades according to the manual instructions. Use a grinding wheel or a file to sharpen the cutting edges evenly. Balance the blade before reinstallation.
Drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Clean the mower thoroughly, check for any worn parts, and store it in a dry, covered place.
Turn off the mower and disconnect the spark plug. Use a brush to remove grass and debris from the deck and impeller. Do not use water to clean the engine.
Excessive vibration can be caused by an unbalanced blade or debris caught in the impeller. Check and clean the impeller and ensure the blade is balanced and properly installed.
Ensure the fuel is fresh and the correct type. Check the spark plug for wear and replace it if necessary. Also, make sure the air filter is clean.
To adjust the cutting height, stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug. Move the height adjustment levers on each wheel to the desired position, ensuring all wheels are set to the same height.
