Ensure the mower is on a flat surface. Press the primer bulb three times, then pull the starter handle briskly to start the engine.
Check for fuel in the tank, ensure the spark plug is connected, and inspect the air filter for blockages.
Use the height adjustment lever located near the wheel to set your desired cutting height. The mower has multiple height settings.
Regularly check and change the oil, clean or replace the air filter, and sharpen or replace the blade as needed.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 25 hours thereafter, or at least once per mowing season.
Use clean, fresh unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends over 10%.
Use a hose to wash off grass clippings and debris, avoiding excess water on the engine. A scraper can be used for stubborn clippings.
Check for a damaged or unbalanced blade, and ensure all bolts and nuts are tightened properly.
Drain the fuel or use a fuel stabilizer, clean the mower thoroughly, and store it in a dry, sheltered area.
Sharpen the blade if it is dull, or replace it if it is damaged. Ensure the blade is properly balanced after sharpening.
