To start the Toro GrandStand 79558 mower, ensure that the PTO switch is off, the motion control levers are in the neutral position, and the parking brake is engaged. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the start position.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol, as it can damage the engine.
Change the engine oil after the first 5 hours of operation, and then every 100 hours or annually, whichever comes first.
If the mower does not start, check the battery connections, ensure the fuel valve is open, and verify that the spark plug is clean and properly connected. Also, make sure the safety interlock system is functioning correctly.
To adjust the cutting height, use the deck lift lever located on the operator's platform. Move the lever to the desired height position, which ranges from 1.5 inches to 5 inches.
The recommended tire pressure for the Toro GrandStand 79558 is 13 psi (0.90 bar) for the rear tires and 13 psi (0.90 bar) for the front tires.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, replacing the air filter, sharpening the blades, inspecting the belts, and lubricating the pivot points. Refer to the operator's manual for a detailed maintenance schedule.
If the mower deck is not engaging, inspect the PTO switch, check the deck belt for damage or misalignment, and ensure the deck drive pulley is functioning properly.
Uneven cutting can be caused by dull blades, improper deck leveling, or tire pressure inconsistencies. Ensure the blades are sharp, the deck is level, and the tires are properly inflated.
Excessive vibration can result from unbalanced blades, debris in the mower deck, or loose components. Check the blades for balance, clean the deck, and tighten any loose parts.
