To start the mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, the choke is engaged, and the engine switch is on. Pull the starter rope briskly until the engine starts.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C).
Sharpen the mower blade every 20-25 hours of use or at least once per mowing season for optimal performance.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and verify that the air filter is clean. Also, inspect the ignition switch for faults.
Adjust the cutting height by moving the height adjustment levers located on each wheel to the desired position.
After use, disconnect the spark plug wire and use a hose to wash the deck. Avoid spraying water directly onto the engine. Dry the mower completely to prevent rust.
Perform an oil change every 25 hours of use, clean the air filter every 10 hours, and inspect the spark plug and blades every 20 hours.
To change the oil, warm up the engine, then turn it off. Remove the oil drain plug and let the oil drain completely. Replace the plug and refill with the appropriate oil type.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a damaged blade, loose hardware, or an unbalanced blade. Inspect the blade and hardware for damage or looseness and replace or tighten as necessary.
Empty the fuel tank, clean the mower thoroughly, and disconnect the spark plug wire. Store the mower in a dry, sheltered location to prevent rust and damage.
