To change the oil, first warm up the engine, then turn it off and remove the spark plug. Drain the old oil by removing the oil drain plug, and replace it with new oil as specified in the manual.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol.
Check the battery connections, ensure the fuel valve is open, and verify the spark plug is functional. Make sure the fuel tank has fresh fuel and the air filter is clean.
Sharpen the blades at least once a season or after every 25 hours of use to maintain cutting efficiency.
Perform routine maintenance such as checking the oil level, cleaning the air filter, and inspecting the blades before each use. Follow the detailed maintenance schedule in the owner’s manual.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever on the mower deck and move it to your desired setting. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Uneven mowing can be caused by dull or damaged blades, uneven tire pressure, or incorrect deck leveling. Ensure the blades are sharp and balanced and the tire pressure is consistent.
Use a garden hose to spray off grass clippings after each use. For a deeper clean, safely lift the tractor and use a scraper or brush to remove dried debris.
Excessive vibration can be due to unbalanced or damaged blades, loose hardware, or debris lodged in the mower deck. Inspect and address these issues to reduce vibration.
To improve battery life, store the tractor in a cool, dry place, keep the battery terminals clean and charged, and avoid deep discharges. Consider using a battery maintainer during off-season.
