Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87 and a maximum ethanol content of 10%. Avoid using E85 or fuels with methanol.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 50 hours of operation or annually, whichever comes first.
Inspect the blade regularly for damage and sharpness. Sharpen or replace the blade every 20-25 hours of mowing or at least once per mowing season.
Check the fuel level and quality, inspect the spark plug for wear, ensure the air filter is clean, and verify the choke and throttle settings.
Inspect the blade for damage or imbalance, check the engine mounting bolts, and ensure all components are securely fastened.
After each use, use a hose to rinse off grass clippings from the deck. Ensure the engine is cool and the spark plug is disconnected before cleaning.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, empty the fuel tank, and store it in a dry, cool place. Disconnect the battery and spark plug if applicable.
Use the height adjustment levers located on each wheel to adjust the mower to the desired cutting height. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Check if the blade is dull or damaged, ensure the deck is level, and verify that the mowing speed is appropriate for the grass conditions.
Inspect the air filter every 25 hours of use. Clean it by tapping it gently to remove dirt, and replace it annually or if it appears damaged or excessively dirty.
