Toro CM-1258Y-SD 68011C Operator's Manual

To start the mixer, first ensure that it is on a level surface. Check the fuel and oil levels. Turn the fuel valve to the 'on' position, set the choke to 'closed', and pull the starter rope until the engine starts. Once the engine is running, move the choke to the 'open' position.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the engine oil, cleaning the air filter, inspecting and tightening bolts, and ensuring the drum is clean and free of debris. Follow the maintenance schedule in the user manual for best results.
Check the fuel level, ensure the fuel valve is open, inspect the spark plug for wear or damage, and verify the choke is set correctly. Also, make sure the air filter is clean and the engine switch is turned on.
First, check the V-belt for proper tension and wear. Make sure the engine is running smoothly and the drive mechanism is engaged. If the problem persists, inspect the gearbox and drive shaft for any blockages or damage.
After use, fill the drum with water and a small amount of gravel. Allow the drum to rotate for several minutes to dislodge any concrete residue. Empty the drum and rinse thoroughly with clean water.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of at least 87. Avoid using gasoline containing more than 10% ethanol to prevent damage to the engine components.
It is recommended to change the engine oil after the first 20 hours of operation and then every 50 hours of use or annually, whichever comes first. Always use high-quality engine oil recommended by the manufacturer.
Excessive vibration may be due to an improperly balanced load, loose bolts, or worn parts. Check that the load is evenly distributed in the drum, tighten any loose components, and inspect for worn or damaged parts that may need replacement.
Operating the mixer in freezing temperatures is not recommended as it can cause damage to the engine and other components. If necessary, ensure that the mixer is properly winterized and stored in a warm environment when not in use.
Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as gloves and goggles. Ensure the mixer is on a stable surface, keep hands and clothing away from moving parts, and do not overload the drum. Follow all safety instructions in the user manual.
