To start the Toro CCR 2450 GTS, ensure the fuel valve is open, set the choke to the "On" position, and prime the engine by pressing the primer bulb several times. Pull the starter handle briskly or use the electric start feature if available.
Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. It's recommended to use a fuel stabilizer if the snow thrower will be stored for an extended period.
Routinely check the oil level, clean or replace the spark plug, inspect the drive belt, and ensure the auger is clear of debris. Lubricate pivot points as needed and check for loose fasteners.
If the snow thrower won't start, check the fuel level and quality, inspect the spark plug for fouling, and ensure the choke and throttle are set correctly. Additionally, make sure the safety key is fully inserted.
To adjust the auger belt tension, refer to the user manual for specific instructions. Generally, you'll need to loosen the belt tensioner, adjust the belt to the proper tension, and retighten the tensioner securely.
Use a high-quality 2-cycle oil mixed with gasoline at a 50:1 ratio. Ensure the oil is suitable for use in air-cooled, 2-cycle engines.
Drain the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer, clean the snow thrower thoroughly, and store it in a dry, sheltered location. Remove the spark plug and add a few drops of oil into the cylinder to prevent rust.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a damaged auger, loose fasteners, or debris caught in the auger. Inspect these areas and tighten any loose components.
To replace the spark plug, disconnect the spark plug wire, use a spark plug socket to remove the old spark plug, and install a new, correctly gapped spark plug. Reattach the spark plug wire securely.
Reduced throwing distance may be due to a worn or damaged auger or impeller, incorrect engine RPM, or a clogged discharge chute. Inspect and clean these components as needed.
