To start the Toro Carefree 20647 mower, ensure that the fuel valve is open, the throttle is in the 'start' position, and the safety handle is engaged. Pull the starter cord firmly to start the engine.
Use SAE 30 oil for the Toro Carefree 20647 mower in temperatures above freezing. For colder conditions, use 5W-30. Always refer to the user manual for specific recommendations.
Sharpen the mower blades after every 20-25 hours of use or if you notice the grass is being torn rather than cut cleanly. Regular sharpening ensures optimal performance and a healthy lawn.
After each use, remove grass clippings from the mower deck by using a hose to wash it down. Ensure the mower is turned off and the spark plug is disconnected for safety. Dry the deck to prevent rust.
Check the fuel level and ensure fresh fuel is used. Inspect the spark plug for wear or damage. Ensure the air filter is clean and not clogged. Verify the safety handle is engaged properly.
At the start of the season, change the oil, replace the spark plug, clean or replace the air filter, sharpen the blades, and inspect the mower for any loose bolts or parts.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired height position, ensuring all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Uncut strips of grass may be due to dull blades, incorrect cutting height, or mowing too quickly. Ensure blades are sharp and slow down your mowing speed for best results.
For winter storage, drain the fuel tank, change the oil, clean the mower thoroughly, and store it in a dry, covered area. Disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starts.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades or loose components. Check the blades for damage, ensure they are properly balanced, and tighten any loose bolts or parts.
