To start the Toro BRC-28 23522 Brushcutter, ensure the fuel tank is filled, set the choke to the closed position, pull the starter handle until the engine fires, then move the choke to the open position and pull the starter handle again to start the engine.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87 and mix it with 2-cycle oil at a ratio of 50:1 for optimal performance.
Clean the air filter every 25 hours of operation or more frequently if used in dusty conditions. Remove the filter, wash it with soap and water, allow it to dry completely, and apply a small amount of oil before reinstalling.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a misaligned cutting blade, loose mounting bolts, or imbalance in the cutting head. Ensure the blade is properly aligned and all bolts are secure. Check the cutting head for damage or imbalance.
To replace the cutting line, remove the cap from the cutting head, take out the spool, and remove any old line. Wind new line onto the spool following the directional arrows, then reassemble the spool and cap.
If the engine won't start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is functional and properly connected, and verify that the air filter is clean. Additionally, make sure the choke and throttle are set correctly.
Routinely check and clean the air filter, inspect and replace the spark plug if necessary, lubricate moving parts, and ensure all bolts and screws are tightened. Regularly inspect the cutting blade for damage or wear.
Wear protective eyewear, gloves, and sturdy footwear. Ensure the work area is clear of bystanders, avoid loose clothing, and operate the brushcutter at a safe distance from obstacles and other people.
Drain the fuel tank, clean the brushcutter thoroughly, and store it in a dry, cool place. It is advisable to remove the spark plug and add a few drops of oil into the cylinder to prevent rust.
Check for a clogged air filter, inspect the fuel for contamination, and ensure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped. Additionally, examine the exhaust for carbon buildup that could restrict airflow.
