Ensure the fuel valve is open, the throttle is in the 'start' position, and the blade control bar is engaged. Pull the starter handle firmly to start the engine.
Check the fuel level, spark plug condition, and ensure the air filter is clean. Also, verify that the fuel valve is open and the throttle is correctly set.
It is recommended to change the oil after the first 5 hours of use and then every 25 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season.
Remove the blade from the mower and use a file or bench grinder to sharpen the cutting edge. Make sure to balance the blade before reinstalling it.
Use clean, fresh unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content.
Disconnect the spark plug, tip the mower on its side with the air filter up, and use a garden hose to rinse the undercarriage. Scrape off any remaining grass clippings with a brush or putty knife.
Check for a damaged or unbalanced blade. Also, inspect the engine mounting bolts and ensure they are tightened properly.
Locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel and move them to the desired position. Make sure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Drain the fuel tank, run the engine until it stops, clean the mower, and change the oil. Store in a dry, sheltered location.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the old filter, and replace it with a new one. Ensure the filter is seated properly before securing the cover.
