To start the Toro 53-cm 20644 Mower, first ensure that the fuel tank is filled and the oil is at the correct level. Then, engage the safety handle, pull the starter handle slowly until you feel resistance, and then pull it briskly to start the engine.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Do not use gasoline with more than 10% ethanol as it may damage the engine.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of operation and then every 25 hours or once per season. Use SAE 30 oil for optimal performance.
If the mower does not start, check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is clean and properly connected, and verify that the air filter is not clogged. If the problem persists, consult the user manual for further troubleshooting.
To clean the deck, make sure the engine is off and disconnect the spark plug. Use a garden hose to wash away grass clippings and debris. Avoid using a pressure washer as it may damage the mower's components.
Clean the mower thoroughly, empty the fuel tank, change the oil, and remove the spark plug. Store the mower in a dry, covered area to prevent rust and deterioration.
Ensure that the blade is sharp and balanced. Adjust the cutting height to suit the grass length and mow when the grass is dry to achieve a cleaner cut.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel and move them to the desired position. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Check if the blade is damaged or unbalanced and replace it if necessary. Inspect other components for wear or damage and tighten any loose bolts. If the issue persists, contact a professional technician.
Disconnect the spark plug wire and use a spark plug wrench to remove the old spark plug. Install the new spark plug by threading it in by hand and then tightening it with the wrench. Reconnect the spark plug wire securely.
