To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment lever near the wheels. Move the lever to the desired position that corresponds to the cutting height you want. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Check if the fuel tank is filled with fresh gasoline. Inspect the spark plug for cleanliness and proper connection. Ensure the safety switch is engaged and the battery is charged if it’s an electric start model.
It is recommended to change the oil every 50 hours of operation or at the start of each mowing season, whichever comes first.
Use SAE 30 weight oil for temperatures between 40°F and 100°F. For colder temperatures, use SAE 10W-30. Always check the owner's manual for specific oil recommendations.
First, disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting. Tilt the mower to access the blade, then using a wrench, remove the bolt securing the blade. Install the new blade by reversing the process. Ensure the blade is tight and properly aligned.
Check if the blades are dull or damaged and sharpen or replace them as necessary. Ensure the deck is clean and not clogged with grass clippings. Verify that the mower is set to the correct cutting height.
After each use, use a garden hose to rinse off grass clippings and debris. For thorough cleaning, scrape off any caked-on grass with a plastic scraper. Always ensure the mower is off and the spark plug wire is disconnected before cleaning.
Clean the mower thoroughly, including the deck and blades. Change the oil and remove the fuel or add a fuel stabilizer. Store the mower in a dry, cool place, and cover it to protect it from dust and moisture.
Check if the tires are inflated to the manufacturer's recommended pressure. Inspect for any damage or misalignment. Also, ensure that the mower deck is level and that you're not consistently mowing on a slope.
Excessive vibration can be caused by an unbalanced blade or debris stuck in the mower deck. Inspect the blade for damage or imbalance and clean the deck. Tighten any loose bolts or fasteners on the mower.
