To assemble your Toro 51803 Trimmer, start by attaching the trimmer head to the shaft. Ensure it clicks into place securely. Then, attach the handle to the shaft, adjusting it to a comfortable position. Refer to the manual for detailed assembly instructions.
The Toro 51803 Trimmer requires a fuel mixture of unleaded gasoline and high-quality synthetic 2-cycle oil at a ratio of 50:1. Avoid using fuel with more than 10% ethanol content.
To replace the trimmer line, first, ensure the trimmer is turned off and cool. Remove the spool from the trimmer head, wind new line onto the spool following the directional arrows, and reattach the spool to the trimmer head.
If the trimmer won't start, check the fuel level and make sure the fuel is fresh. Inspect the spark plug for signs of wear or damage and replace if necessary. Ensure the air filter is clean and not clogged.
The air filter should be checked and cleaned every 5 hours of operation or more frequently in dusty conditions. Replace the filter if it is damaged or excessively dirty.
To adjust the idle speed, locate the idle speed screw on the carburetor. Turn the screw clockwise to increase idle speed or counterclockwise to decrease it. Adjust until the trimmer idles smoothly without stalling.
Regular maintenance includes checking and cleaning the air filter, inspecting and replacing the spark plug as needed, cleaning the trimmer head, and lubricating moving parts. Refer to your manual for a detailed maintenance schedule.
Excessive vibration could be due to a damaged or unbalanced trimmer head or shaft. Inspect the trimmer head for damage and ensure it is properly balanced. Tighten any loose components.
Before storing, drain the fuel tank and run the engine until it stops. Clean the trimmer thoroughly, check for any needed repairs, and store it in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight or moisture.
If cutting performance decreases, check if the trimmer line is worn or incorrectly installed. Replace or rewind the line if necessary. Also, ensure the engine is running smoothly and inspect the trimmer head for any obstructions.
