To assemble the Toro 51611 Leaf Collector, first attach the collection bag to the blower unit. Ensure that the zipper is closed on the bag. Secure the hose by attaching it to both the collection bag and the blower output. Ensure all connections are tight to avoid air leaks.
If the leaf collector doesn't start, check if it's properly plugged into a power source. Ensure the extension cord is suitable for outdoor use and is rated for the power of the blower. Additionally, check the fuse or circuit breaker. If all else fails, consult the manual for troubleshooting steps or contact customer support.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the collection bag after each use, checking the blower for debris blockages, ensuring the impeller is free from damage, and inspecting the power cord for wear and tear. Store the unit in a dry place to prevent moisture damage.
Store the Toro 51611 in a dry, cool place. Detach the collection bag and hose, and fold them neatly. Keep the blower unit on a flat surface to prevent any distortion. Avoid storing in direct sunlight or damp areas.
To unclog the hose, first ensure the unit is unplugged. Detach the hose from the blower and the collection bag. Use a long, flexible tool to gently push out any debris. A garden hose can be used to flush out remaining particles if necessary.
Loss of suction can be caused by a full or clogged collection bag, a blocked hose, or a damaged impeller. Empty the bag, clear any obstructions, and inspect the impeller for damage. Replace any faulty parts as needed.
While the Toro 51611 can handle slightly damp leaves, it is not designed for wet, heavy debris. Wet leaves can clog the system and reduce efficiency. For best results, use the collector on dry or slightly damp leaves.
The collection bag should be emptied and cleaned after each use to maintain optimal performance. Regularly check for wear and tear, and replace the bag if it becomes damaged or overly worn.
Use an extension cord rated for outdoor use and capable of handling the power draw of the leaf collector. The cord should be at least 14-gauge for lengths up to 50 feet and 12-gauge for longer distances to prevent voltage drop and overheating.
To replace the impeller, first ensure the unit is unplugged. Remove the screws securing the housing and carefully detach it to access the impeller. Remove the damaged impeller and replace it with a new one, ensuring it is securely fastened. Reassemble the unit and test for proper operation.
