To start the Toro 5 HP 59052 Bagger, ensure the fuel valve is open, the choke is engaged, and the throttle is set to the 'FAST' position. Pull the starter rope briskly to start the engine.
Check the fuel level and ensure there is fresh gasoline. Verify the spark plug is clean and properly connected. Ensure the air filter is not clogged and the engine oil is at the correct level.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 25 hours or at the start of each mowing season, whichever comes first.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 or 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C).
Disconnect the spark plug wire and remove the blade. Secure the blade in a vice and use a file or grinding wheel to sharpen, maintaining the original angle of the blade edge.
Drain the fuel tank, change the oil, clean the air filter, and remove the spark plug to add a drop of oil into the cylinder. Rotate the blade manually to distribute the oil evenly.
Adjust the cutting height by moving the wheel height adjusters on each wheel to the desired position. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Check for loose or damaged parts, particularly the blade. Ensure the blade is balanced and securely fastened. Inspect the engine mounting bolts and tighten if necessary.
Ensure the grass bag is clean and not clogged. Mow when the grass is dry and avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass height at a time. Sharpen the blade regularly for a clean cut.
Wear safety goggles and sturdy footwear. Do not operate on wet grass or steep slopes. Keep hands and feet away from the cutting area and ensure bystanders are at a safe distance.
