To start the Toro 46-cm 20942 mower, ensure there is enough fuel and oil. Pull the safety handle towards the handlebar, then pull the starter rope firmly.
Regular maintenance includes checking and changing the oil, cleaning or replacing the air filter, sharpening the blade, and ensuring all nuts and bolts are tight.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected properly, and inspect the air filter for clogs. Also, make sure the safety handle is engaged while starting.
Use SAE 30 or 10W-30 oil for optimal performance in most climates. Refer to the user manual for specific recommendations based on your region.
Adjust the cutting height by using the lever located near each wheel. Move the lever to the desired height position. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height.
Ensure the engine is off and the spark plug wire is disconnected. Use a garden hose to spray under the deck and remove any grass clippings.
Check for debris caught in the blade or under the deck. Ensure the blade is balanced and securely fastened. If the problem persists, it may need professional servicing.
The spark plug should be checked and replaced every season or after 100 hours of operation, whichever comes first.
It's not recommended to mow wet grass as it can clog the mower deck and result in uneven cutting. Wait for the grass to dry before mowing.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, remove any fuel, and store it in a dry place. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.
