The recommended maintenance schedule includes checking the oil level and air filter before each use, changing the oil after the first 5 hours of operation and then every 50 hours, replacing the air filter annually, and sharpening the blades every 25 hours or as needed.
Ensure the fuel tank is full and the fuel is fresh. Check the spark plug for wear or damage and replace if necessary. Verify that the mower is in neutral and the parking brake is engaged. Also, check the battery connections if the mower is electric start.
To enhance cutting performance, ensure the blades are sharp and balanced. Mow when the grass is dry, and adjust the cutting height to avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass length at once. Regularly clean the deck to prevent grass build-up.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced or damaged blades. Inspect and balance the blades, and replace them if they are bent or damaged. Also, check for debris stuck in the deck or pulley area.
To change the oil, run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up, then stop the engine. Remove the oil fill cap, drain the old oil into a suitable container, and replace it with new oil up to the recommended level. Dispose of the old oil responsibly.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content, as it can damage the engine components.
The spark plug should be inspected annually and replaced every 100 hours of operation or if it shows signs of wear or damage.
First, disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting. Tilt the mower to access the deck, and use a hose or scraper to remove grass clippings and debris. Ensure the deck is dry before storing the mower.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position, ensuring all wheels are set at the same height for an even cut.
Check if the blades are dull or damaged and sharpen or replace them as needed. Ensure the cutting deck is level and check for any obstructions underneath. Mowing at a slower speed can also improve cutting performance.
