To start the Toro 38692 Mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, set the choke to full if the engine is cold, turn the ignition key to the 'start' position, and pull the recoil starter if necessary.
Use unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using E15 or E85 fuel as it can damage the engine.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of operation, then every 50 hours of use or at the start of each mowing season.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, verify the fuel valve is open, and inspect the air filter for clogs. If the problem persists, consult the user manual or a professional technician.
Locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel, then raise or lower them to your desired cutting height. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Make sure the tires are properly inflated and consider adjusting the cutting height to prevent scalping.
Drain the fuel tank, change the oil, clean the mower deck, and remove the spark plug to add a few drops of oil into the cylinder. Reinstall the spark plug without connecting the wire.
Ensure the engine is off and the spark plug wire is disconnected. Tilt the mower on its side, use a garden hose to rinse off debris, and a brush to remove any stuck grass.
Check for loose or damaged parts, inspect the blade for balance and damage, and ensure all nuts and bolts are tightened.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, use a spark plug wrench to remove the old plug, and install a new spark plug, ensuring it is properly gapped according to the specifications in the user manual.
