To start the Toro 36-cm 21180 mower, ensure that the mower is on a flat surface. Push the primer bulb three times, hold the handle bar, and pull the starter rope sharply.
Perform maintenance after every 25 hours of use or at the start of each mowing season. This includes changing the oil, replacing the air filter, and sharpening the blade.
If the mower won't start, check the fuel level and ensure fresh fuel is used. Inspect the spark plug for damage or wear, and clean the air filter if it's dirty.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers near each wheel. Move the levers to the desired height position for an even cut across your lawn.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 10W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C). Always check the oil level before each use.
Before storing the mower for winter, drain the fuel tank, clean the mower thoroughly, and store it in a dry place. Consider removing the battery and storing it separately if applicable.
Check if the wheels are set to the same height, inspect the blade for damage or dullness, and ensure the mower deck is clean and not clogged with grass.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a damaged or unbalanced blade. Inspect the blade for bends and ensure it is properly secured. Replace if necessary.
Sharpen the mower blade at least once a season or after 25 hours of use. More frequent sharpening may be necessary if the lawn contains rocks or debris.
It's not recommended to mow wet grass as it can clog the mower deck and lead to uneven cuts. Wait until the grass is dry for optimal mowing results.
