Use fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using ethanol blends greater than E10.
To change the oil, run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up, then turn it off. Remove the oil fill cap, tilt the mower, and drain the oil into a suitable container. Refill with the recommended oil type and amount.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected, and inspect the air filter. If the mower still doesn't start, consider cleaning the carburetor or replacing the spark plug.
Sharpen the mower blades after approximately 20-25 hours of use or if you notice uneven grass cutting. Always disconnect the spark plug before removing or sharpening blades.
Clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, and remove the spark plug. Add a fuel stabilizer to the gas tank, or run the engine until the fuel is used up. Store the mower in a dry location.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it with warm soapy water. Rinse it well, let it dry completely, and apply a light coat of oil before reinstalling.
Check for debris lodged in the mower deck, inspect the blades for damage or imbalance, and ensure all bolts and fasteners are tightened securely.
Adjust the cutting height by moving the wheel height adjustment levers to the desired position. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for an even cut.
Inspect the spark plug regularly for wear or buildup. Replace it every season or after 100 hours of use. Ensure the gap is set correctly as per the manufacturer's specifications.
Disconnect the spark plug, tip the mower on its side with the carburetor facing up, and use a hose to wash away grass clippings. Scrape off stubborn debris with a plastic or wooden tool.
