To start the Toro 30168 Mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, set the choke lever to 'on', and pull the starter handle briskly. Once the engine starts, gradually move the choke lever to 'off'.
To change the oil, run the engine for a few minutes to warm it up, then turn it off. Remove the oil drain plug and let the oil drain completely. Replace the plug, and refill with the recommended oil type and quantity.
The air filter should be checked every 25 hours of operation and replaced if it is dirty or damaged. Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance.
If the blades do not engage, check the drive belt for wear or damage. Ensure the PTO switch is working correctly and inspect the blade engagement cable for any disconnection or breakage.
Ensure the blades are sharp and balanced. Mow at the correct height for your grass type and adjust the tire pressure to the recommended level. Clean the underside of the deck to prevent grass build-up.
Check the fuel level and quality, inspect the spark plug for damage or wear, and ensure the battery is charged. Additionally, verify that the safety switches are engaged properly.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers near each wheel. Move the levers to the desired position, ensuring all four levers are set to the same height for an even cut.
Before storing, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, stabilize the fuel, and remove the battery. Store the mower in a dry place and cover it to protect it from dust and moisture.
Check that the mower deck is level, the blades are sharp, and the tire pressure is even. Inspect for any obstructions or damage to the deck that could affect cutting performance.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced or damaged blades. Check the blades for balance and damage, and inspect the blade mounting hardware for tightness.
