To start the Toro 30159 mower, ensure that the fuel valve is open, the choke is in the correct position, and the throttle is set to fast. Then, pull the starter cord firmly.
Toro recommends using SAE 30 oil for the 30159 mower, ensuring optimal performance in temperatures above 32°F (0°C).
It's recommended to sharpen the mower blades every 20-25 hours of use or whenever you notice the grass is being torn rather than cut.
Check the fuel level, ensure the spark plug is connected and clean, inspect the air filter for blockages, and verify that the fuel is fresh.
Regular maintenance includes changing the oil every 50 hours, cleaning or replacing the air filter, checking the spark plug, and inspecting the blades for sharpness and wear.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers near each wheel and move them to the desired position for the preferred cutting height.
Excessive vibration can be caused by unbalanced blades, debris caught under the deck, or loose parts. Check and clean under the deck, tighten any loose parts, and ensure the blades are balanced.
Turn off the mower and disconnect the spark plug. Use a garden hose to rinse the underside of the deck, removing grass and debris, then dry thoroughly to prevent rust.
Ensure the air filter is clean, maintain sharp blades, use fresh fuel, and avoid mowing in excessively tall grass to improve fuel efficiency.
Drain the fuel, clean the mower thoroughly, change the oil, and store it in a dry, sheltered area. Consider using a fuel stabilizer if storing for extended periods.
