Toro 30157 Operator's Manual

Ensure the mower is on a flat surface. Check that the fuel valve is open and the throttle is set to "Choke" if the engine is cold. Pull the starter grip slowly until resistance is felt, then pull rapidly to start the engine.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C). For temperatures below 32°F, use SAE 5W-30. Ensure the oil is of high quality and meets API service classifications SF, SG, SH, SJ, SL, or higher.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of operation, then every 50 hours or annually, whichever comes first. Regular oil changes will help ensure optimal performance and longevity of the engine.
Check the fuel level and ensure fresh fuel is used. Verify that the spark plug is clean and properly connected. Inspect the air filter for dirt or obstructions. If the problem persists, consult the user manual or contact customer support.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel. Move each lever to the desired height setting, ensuring all levers are set to the same position for an even cut.
Regularly clean the underside of the mower to prevent grass buildup. Sharpen the mower blade at least once per season. Ensure the engine is tuned-up annually and replace worn parts promptly.
Before storage, run the engine until it runs out of fuel. Clean the mower thoroughly, including the deck and blade. Change the oil and remove the spark plug, adding a few drops of oil into the cylinder to prevent rust. Store in a dry place.
Disconnect the spark plug wire and remove any debris around the spark plug area. Use a spark plug wrench to remove the old spark plug. Check the gap on the new spark plug and adjust if necessary. Install the new spark plug and reattach the spark plug wire.
Check for debris or damage on the blade. Ensure the blade is properly balanced and securely attached. Inspect the engine mounting bolts and tighten if necessary. If vibration continues, consult a professional technician.
Remove the air filter cover and take out the filter. If it’s a paper filter, tap it gently to remove dirt, or replace it if excessively dirty. For foam filters, wash with warm soapy water and let it dry completely before reinstalling.
