To start the Toro 30112 mower, ensure the fuel valve is open, set the choke if the engine is cold, pull the starter handle slowly until resistance is felt, then pull quickly to start the engine.
Check if there's fresh fuel in the tank, ensure the spark plug is clean and connected, and verify that the air filter is clean. If these are fine, examine the ignition system for faults.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, and then every 25 hours of operation or at the beginning of each mowing season.
Remove the blade from the mower, secure it in a vice, and use a metal file to sharpen the cutting edge. Ensure the blade is balanced before reinstalling.
Regularly sharpen the blades, adjust the cutting height to suit lawn conditions, and mow when the grass is dry. Clean the underside of the deck to prevent clippings build-up.
Perform regular oil changes, clean or replace the air filter, inspect and replace the spark plug as necessary, and check the blade for sharpness and balance.
Locate the height adjustment levers on each wheel, pull the lever to disengage it from the current notch, and move it to the desired cutting height position.
Check for debris caught in the blades or under the deck, ensure the blade is not bent, and verify that the blade is properly balanced and securely attached.
Mow when the grass is dry, avoid cutting more than one-third of the grass blade length at a time, and regularly clean the underside of the mower deck.
Run the engine until the fuel tank is empty, change the oil, remove and clean the spark plug, and store the mower in a dry, sheltered area. Consider using a fuel stabilizer if fuel is left in the tank.
