Ensure the mower is on a flat surface, engage the parking brake, set the throttle to 'fast', and turn the ignition key to start.
Check the fuel level, inspect the spark plug for wear, ensure the battery is charged, and verify the air filter is clean.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then every 50 hours or at the start of each mowing season.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and 10W-30 for temperatures below that.
Locate the height adjustment levers near each wheel, and move them to the desired setting. Ensure all levers are set to the same height for an even cut.
After each use, remove grass buildup by scraping the underside of the deck, then use a garden hose to rinse off debris.
Ensure the blades are sharp and properly installed, check for debris under the deck, and verify that the mower is set to the appropriate cutting height.
Adjust the tire pressure according to the manual, ensure the blades are sharp, and mow slowly to accommodate the terrain.
Regularly check and replace the oil, clean or replace the air filter, inspect the spark plug, and sharpen the blades as needed.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, change the oil, clean the mower thoroughly, and store in a dry, protected area.
